International Women's Day
‘When is it International Men's Day then?!’
It's the 19th of November this year.
Now that that's out of the way…
Today is International Women's Day and I thought this would be a good place to highlight some of the fantastic female performers within magic and the allied arts, as this is traditionally quite a male dominated field.
Laura London - A performer who brings a touch of class to the arena. With great stage presence and spot on sleight of hand skills, Laura is a joy to watch.
Dorothy Dietrich - The first woman, and one of only a handful of magicians, to catch a bullet, fired from a gun, live on TV.
Adelaide Herrmann - Wife and performing partner of Alexander Herrmann, Adelaide continued to astonish audiences after her husband's death.
Lulu Hurst - This young lady was, according to legend, struck by lightning and gained superpowers, meaning she could hold back several grown men at once with her phenomenal strength.
Terri Rogers - Not a magician, but one of the funniest and most talented ventriloquists I've ever seen.
