How It All Began… part three

In mid 2010, I moved into a flat with my best buddy, Marc. We only lived there for just under a year, but it became a bit of a party spot.

On New Year's night, we invited some people round for a few drinks. As the night went on, we all had some laughs and some fun and eventually Marc asked me to show those card tricks I knew.

I was hesitant but decided to get my deck out.

I showed a few things, and the reactions this time were priceless! No one was any more than tipsy, so alcohol couldn't really be blamed/thanked for the response. It just seemed as though everyone was genuinely enjoying what I was offering.

Marc still talks about a chosen card appearing inside a beer bottle 😂

The next day, I went online and ordered two magic books. Both of which, I would recommend to anyone interested in the art. Those books are…

Mark Wilson's Complete Course In Magic

and

Joshua Jay - Magic

I learned so much from these books, and I still refer back to them more often than you might think.

Marc became my unwitting Guinea pig and had to suffer through so many card tricks, coin tricks and so much mind-reading. I'm sure he loved it really(!)

He wasn't the only person I would experiment with though…
