Viva Magic!

Before lockdown, up until around March of 2020, I performed weekly at Viva Brazil in Glasgow, and I loved it!

It was always a fun gig, where I got to meet and entertain lots of different people from lots of different backgrounds and places, and of all different ages. So when it came to a halt, as everything did at that time, I was upset, but hopeful I would return.

After the world started getting back to normal, restaurants weren't quite as busy to start with, and in this particular restaurant, management had changed. There was no role for me.

It was disappointing, but I understood.

Fast forward to late February 2023, and I am invited in to the restaurant to speak to the manager. He offered me a weekly post, starting on the 12th of March, doing what I do best. Putting smiles on faces.

Now, on the 12th, I obviously got a little too excited. I drove to my frequently used park & ride, jumped on the train into the city centre, and speed-walked up to the restaurant. I entered at 11.59am. Just in time.

Then I realised, I wasn't sure to start until 1pm! I was an hour early! 😭😂

I sighed and realised it was going to be a long day, but then, the managed, Simon, saved the day. He fed me. In the couple of years before the pandemic, I'd never actually eaten at Viva Brazil. Simon sorted that out straight away!

I was stuffed! The food was delicious and I will definitely be having more whenever I can!

It's so, so good to be back, and I appreciate every person who takes the time to experience my magic. If you're ever in Glasgow on a Sunday afternoon (unless it's the last one of the month), come on in to Viva Brazil on Bothwell Street and pick a card!
