Communication Is Key

Whenever I am booked for an event, I always think of the old Bob Hoskins BT adverts. ‘It's good to talk,’ was the catchphrase used by Bob.

There's nothing worse when planning your wedding, child's party or public event, then worrying and thinking things like ‘Is the entertainer definitely going to turn up?’

I like to make sure, that my customer is sure, that I'll be there on the day. I send regular emails, or texts, or make calls. Not constant. I don't want to become a nuisance. But I speak to them when they're booking, then again when the deposit is sorted, and again a few days before the event.

And a few days after the event, I send a follow up message to thank them for inviting me along.

If you're a supplier, don't leave your clients worrying that you've gone AWOL. Keep in touch.
